For the 5th time Shebeen Flick festival brings a curated selection of current films from Ireland’s vibrant film industry to Berlin. From the 17th to the 20th March the Shebeen Flick Irish Film Festival will showcase current works from Ireland’s pulsating film industry. Starting on the Irish holiday St. Patrick’s Day, the festival will be showing 6 feature films and 6 short films at Berlin’s oldest cinema, the Moviemento. Before every feature film a short film will be played. A large number of directors involved will be attending the screenings and available for Q&A sessions with the audience after the feature.
Film highlights include:
Bargaintown (Documentary, 1988/2015, Dir: David Jazay and Judith Klinger)
Lost in the Living (Drama, 2015, Dir: Robert Manson)
I Used to Live Here (Drama, 2014, Dir: Frank Berry)
as well as the classic
The Commitments (25th anniversary, R: Alan Parker)
The film-like documentary Bargaintown will also be shown as part of the comprehensive, multi-layered long-term documentation “Dublin before the Tiger” from photographer David Jazay.
The Irish Film Institute has made the classic “The Commitments” available in its original 35mm print.
